Federal Judge Orders Summary Judgment in Favor of our Client, Parrish Medical Center

On August 22, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida issued its opinion ordering summary judgment in favor of our client Parrish Medical Center (PMC).

Zumpano Patricios congratulates Joe Zumpano, Leon Patricios, and the Zumpano Patricios team, as well as PMC, its CEO George Mikitarian, its Board of Directors, officers and staff, for this remarkable accomplishment.

The published opinion of the Court has potential implications for hospitals nationwide. The opinion clarifies that hospital bylaws may allow issues outside of clinical competence to be considered when evaluating a physician’s application for renewal of privileges. The outcome of this case favors hospitals seeking data from physicians applicable to quality initiatives for the benefit of patients.
