The Daily Business Review published an article on the campaign to restore the historic Courtroom 61 at the Dade County Courthouse "to its former glory". Zumpano Patricios & Winker, P.A. was listed as contributing $10,000 toward the cost of restoration. Approximately $100,000 has been raised from law firms and $50,000 in donations of unused judicial campaign funds has been received. The Florida legislature has agreed to provide up to $315,000 in matching funds. Courtroom 61 has storied history. Giuseppe Zangara, who failed in his attempt to assassinate President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Bayfront Park, and Al Capone made appearances in the Courtroom. Today, Courtroom 61 currently serves as the Courthouse's ceremonial courtroom.
