The Law Crossing website today published an article on the Zumpano, Patricios & Winker, P.A. and its international growth. The article states that ZP&W has adopted an "innovative new globalism' model, which has led the firm to forge relationships with foreign practices." The article went on to state that "this model allows for increased global commerce." ZP&W's main offices are in Miami and it has domestic representative offices in Key West and New Hartford, New York. ZP&W also maintains representative offices in Freeport and Nassau, The Bahamas, Mexico City, Mexico, Milan and Pesaro, Italy, Madrid, Spain, Panama City, Panama, San Jose, Costa and Santiago, Dominican Republic.

The article stated that: "Thirty-some lawyers might strike you as too small a group for a firm to expand internationally in any significant way. That's not stopping Coral Gables, Fla. based Zumpano, Patricios & Winker. The firm has three offices in Florida and a growing number of representative offices around the world. The firm currently has a presence in San Jose, Costa Rica; Freeport & Nassau, Bahamas; Mexico City, Mexico; Madrid, Spain; Panama City, Panama; and opened most recently in Milan, Italy. Managing partner Joseph Zumpano says his firm follows the "stream of commerce" to set up shop in hot spots around South America and Europe. The idea of opening an office in a country that is an origin of significant immigration to the United States, or a major source of imports, isn't a new one, but Zumpano Patricios & Winker's approach may be. Rather than opening offices in foreign countries, they affiliate exclusively with small, local law firms, creating an office within the foreign firm's facilities. Zumpano says it helps to keep from alienating the local legal community that isn't looking for extra competition from North America lawyers."

An article in the Coral Gables Gazette cited the expansion of Zumpano Patricios & Winker, P.A. through the addition of four attorneys, "bringing the attorney count to 36." Jeffrey Flanagan and W. Chad Williard have affiliated with ZP&W as of counsel. Lori Desnick has been hired as a senior associate attorney and Martha Esperon has been hired as an associate. Flanagan and Williard focus their practice on real estate and land use and zoning law. Both received their juris doctor from the University of Miami. Desnick focuses her practice on health law, transactional law and federal and state regulatory compliance. Prior to joining ZP&W, Desnick was an Assistant General Counsel to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. She received both her juris doctor and master in health administration from the St. Louis University Schools of Law and Public Health. Esperon will be focusing her practice in transactional and regulatory matters in the areas of corporate, real estate and trusts and estates law.
