Alexander (Alex) Loy is an Associate at Zumpano Patricios.  Alex’s experience in litigation matters includes several areas of law, such as healthcare, commercial and financial services, and real property. 



Alex's health law practice focuses on disputes between large health care providers and managed care payers.  Alex has helped clients navigate nuanced issues relating to ERISA, FEHBA, Medicare, and other topics, in managed care dispute settings aimed to recover wrongfully reduced or denied payments for hospital services.



Alex has represented individuals and corporate entities involved in complex commercial matters traversing multiple jurisdictions. Such matters have involved large-scale breaches of contract, various business torts, financial services controversies, and related employment law issues.


Alex earned his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School.  As a law student, Alex tailored his studies to health law, business law, and trial practice, particularly the rules of evidence. He served as the Note and Comment Editor for the Albany Law School Journal of Science and Technology and was a member of the Immigration Branch of the Albany Law Clinic and Justice Center. Alex also clerked for the Office of the Albany County District Attorney.


As an undergraduate, Alex majored in Public Policy & Law at Trinity College. There, he gained early exposure to appellate advocacy on constitutional law issues, including First Amendment Free Speech, Fourth and Fifth Amendment Due Process, and Eighth Amendment Cruel and Unusual Punishment issues.
